Hopefully any long term readers of this blog have picked up a couple of decent antepost bets for this coming weekend at Newbury, with two 25/1 selections put up. Going forwards there will be plenty of antepost bets put up, and the Cheltenham blog is going really well with two big priced selections enhancing their claims for their chosen races in March.

A new weekly blog for readers is the tracker, where I'll put up two horses to keep an eye on for upcoming races over the next few months. Not just with an eye on for Cheltenham, but other opportunities in the season.
To open the tracker, there will be 2 horses which I'll put up from the same race. One has been mentioned already as a potential graded horse, so there won't be any surprise on that one. Let's start with him first shall we?
There was one horse who caught everyone's eye at Haydock on Saturday and that was CRAMBO. It wasn't the greatest of rides by his jockey on the day as he had far too much ground to make up especially against 2 frighteningly well handicapped Irish horses in the winner Slate Lane and the 2nd Fine Margin. Both horses probably were a stone well in, and Fine Margin could be one to follow in the Pertemps if he runs in the qualifier at Leopardstown at Christmas. Slate Lane will no doubt be targeted at something lucrative but they mentioned the Pertemps might not be an option.
Going back to the eventual third Crambo, he was given far too much to do, however there was a question mark over his stamina from connections - which explains his ride. Rated 139 before his run, he's been upped 3lb by the handicapper and is likely to have at least another 8lb in hand. I wonder if he might be aimed at the Cleeve, before a crack at the Stayers Hurdle. Or perhaps a Rendlesham at Haydock before going onto Aintree where he won in October. A question mark remains where he goes next, but it's no doubting that he is still a well handicapped horse and a graded hurdler in the making.
Other horses I could take from that race was Gowel Road who ran a cracker first time out, and could be a Pertemps horse with plenty of qualifiers in rhe UK left. He's definitely one for the tracker, but a horse who gives his all and is probably handicapped to the hilt currently is BOLD ENDEAVOUR. 5th in last seasons Coral Cup, he is already qualified for the Pertemps and might drop a couple of pounds in the run up to the final in March if given the opportunity by his connections. Whilst I don't think he will have loads in hand come March, given his toughness, class and stamina - he will be the type who is a solid each way bet come the Festival in March.
Currently rated 142, he can give his all in 3 mile handicaps throughout the season and I expect him to get his luck in one of them. Nicky Henderson might have him cherry ripe for the festival in March, and with Nicky's advancing years he no doubt wants as many winners at his favourite fairground.
