A great day overall for the blog. Royale Dancer was 5th and ran an encouraging first time start. Although we needed her to come 4th or better, she finished off her race. Nothing to our avail but it was fair enough start to her season for the mare. Showman didn't have any luck at Leopardstown and was trapped into a rough pocket of the race - I'll keep him in the tracker for future weeks.
We did have another winner at 9/1 for the blog with The Folkes Tiara beating off the tough The Big Chap in the 2m Handicap Chase at Leopardstown. That brings our profit up to over +20pts this season and we're hitting our stride. I knew we'd make some profit if we stuck in there. I haven't had a great deal of time since declarations came out this morning for the 27th but 1 selection takes my fancy at a galatic price.

Leopardstown 1:45 - 2m - Future Champions Novice Hurdle
An open looking Grade 1 novice hurdle at Leopardstown, but you wouldn't think it from the betting. Daddy Long Legs and Down Memory Lane head the betting at 13/8f and 7/4. For 2 horses who've only been seen winning an average novice hurdles each. then it's a wrong price given they both haven't achieved their prices on paper. Both may be top class and given the general vibes around, you'd think they'd already confirmed that.
Both probably are very classy established horses for the future. but their trainers have only
potential on their hands at the moment rather than confirmed top class ability and it's worth taking that into note at their young careers.
Other runners include Absurde who won't ever convince as a top class jumper unless it proves it with a number of consistent performers, so he's another worth taking on. Whilst Caldwell Potter and Predators Gold both look graded horses in the making but also lack experience like the front 2 in the betting.
I've been toying with the idea of putting this up as I backed it at 100/1 with real money 2 days ago, although my enthusiasm as slightly temptered due to a contraction in price, but FASCILE MODE still ranks as a tentative bet at 50/1 and he's the selection today.
A unconvincing win at Punchestown in a maiden hurdle started off the season of Tom Mullins gelding after an inconsistent bumper campaign. He failed to fill the eye in the jumping department at Punchestown but looked filled with ability.
After winning at Leopardstown first time out under rules in a bumper at Leopardstown at the same meeting last season, he never really hit the heights as expected when running through the season in the Spring festivals. He failed to fire at the Dublin Racing Festival, and then the Cheltenham Festivak in further bumpers after his initial promise.
Last seen in the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle in early December at Fairyhouse, he again jumped poorly like his hurdle debut in the aforementioned novice hurdle at Punchestown. He was actually well backed in the Royal Bond which suggested some camp confidence going into the race, and travelled well enough into the race before major jumping issues came to the fray.
If he can improve his jumping, he has the ability to be involved in the finish given an open looking field. and 50/1 is a little dramatic from the bookmakers from an each way point of view. He has also won at this fixture last year, and I'm happy to have a dabble each way at the 50/1 on offer.
